So, you’re blogging now?

This is kinda new for me. New in that it’s the first time I’ve had a blog where I actually feel responsible for producing content. I’ve had countless blogs in the past. I could argue I had one of the first: I maintained regular dated entries on a personal website which started exactly 12 years ago  [ Read More ]

Voice chat in online games

Posted by Greg On February - 26 - 2010 2 Comments

For me, at least, being able to verbally talk to other players in an online game is relatively new. I had done it before with Left 4 Dead on PC, but only with a group of friends. I’ve just started playing MAG, however, and voice chat in this scenario is quite different for me now  [ Read More ]

The Deep Pinball

The Deep on iTunes

Despite missing the height of pinball popularity I’ve always really enjoyed playing Pinball machines, especially some of the better licenced ones such as Judge Dredd, Doctor Who and Indiana Jones pinball games.  I was never much of a fan however of the digital/PC versions.  They were okay as a diversion but I never really got  [ Read More ]

Bioshock box art

Bioshock is an awesome looking game. The sound effects are amazing. The story is really interesting. The game play is engaging and very natural. These are all really great reasons to want to play Bioshock however there is one reason to avoid it, at least in my case: It scares the ever-lovin bejeebus out of  [ Read More ]

Nick Cave on SingStar

singstar

I was really surprised to see Nick Cave and the Badseeds in the SingStore, I don’t know why I thought that it would fall under his very strict policy of refusing to licence his songs for advertising.  A policy I have the utmost respect for I might add, there’s nothing more depressing than hearing a  [ Read More ]

singstar

I can’t sing. No really. Can’t. I mean I’m at Shatner level. I say this to highlight the absolute improbability of me ever, EVER, playing a game like SingStar.  But then a funny thing happened one night after watching Sherlock Holmes amidst the Boxing Day sales we happened upon the Rockband instruments pack at what  [ Read More ]

Giving Rapture another go

Posted by Greg On February - 16 - 2010 0 Comment

Bioshock, so far, has been slightly terrifying. Still, there’s hope yet. But first, a preface. I downloaded Bioshock from Steam based on a recommendation from a friend. I loved it but I found it clumsy at times in terms of the controls for shooting; the aiming felt vague and inprecise. I made it as far  [ Read More ]

Whilst making the rounds through the Playstation Network the other day I noticed that a new Star Trek game was being advertised, this one based on the J.J. Abram’s reboot film: Star Trek: D-A-C PlayStation 3 Trailer – Space Battle Trailer Now I’m fairly certain I’ve seen this game before, granted Star Trek: D-A-C has been out  [ Read More ]

There are two of us here: Lee and Greg. Games are a new topic of writing for us but we talk about them a hell of a lot, and would like to talk with you about them, too. We don’t work for the games industry in any way and we’re not hardcore gamers. We enjoy  [ Read More ]
