It’s been a long time since I visited the world of Street Fighter.
Street Fighter 2 on the Super Nintendo actually. Since then there have been a bunch of versions of SF2 and I imagine Street Fighter III though I don’t recall seeing anything about it. But then I saw a demo of the current one Street Fighter IV and was very impressed with the graphics.
So then I saw it for a pretty awesome price, took 20 minutes away from Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, which I might add I’ve been becoming more obsessed with every minute I play it.
It’s bloody hard!!!
No really!!! HARD.
I even played on the super mega I-don’t-know-how-you-even-know-how-to-turn-the-PS3-on mode.
The only character I had any luck with was Chun Li. So you know what?
Chun Li is now officially awesome and I have to watch the Street Fighter movie that features her as the main character.
Whilst hard the game is a lot of fun and brought back memories of the SF2 days. I might add that thanks to Chun Li and that fantastic kick move she does which granted is pretty much the easiest move to pull off I picked up my first trophy in the twenty minutes I played – 100 uses of the special moves.
Whilst I love the art I might add that it does make them all look a little freaky especially Ryu and Chun Li who’s muscles were a little overbulgy.
Looking forward to a little button mashing on this but first I might go back to war with Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.

I can't stand these games – maybe because I'm rubbish at them. All that up up down A A X down down left stuff does my head in.

It's probably why I like Chun Li so much! Her special kicking move is activated by repeatedly hitting the kick button! Still makes it a special move though and I'm comfortable with my masculinity.
On record I also used Ryu's special powers and some Mexican dude who likes to cook – it's the first I've ever encountered that character.

Oh the irony. I was just watching a program on Canadian television announcing the upcoming release of Super Street Fighter IV.

LOL that's fine because there will be about 15 more versions I imagine.

Well, it is their bread and butter.
I take it you are merely training for MvsC 3 then?

I'm really looking forward to MvsC – I had the trailer over on QYDJ – the style lends itself really well!

I'm a little concerned that it's quite hard. I thought there might be some flexibility.
Incidentally, I saw this being played at The Mana Bar on Thursday night and they have arcade-style controllers for it which looked pretty neat.
